The Dolphins Swim Team is for boys and girls ages 6 - 18 years old.  The coaching staff believes it is important to teach the strokes correctly to the swimmers, in a way that is developmentally appropriate, while giving them ample opportunities to practice what they have learned. The focus is on improving strokes and times while having fun and being part of a team.The Fall/Winter Recreation Swim Teams consist of different practice groups that are both age and skill based. 8:55 AM - 9:35 AM    Swim Lessons (March 2026) - MINNOWS/LEVEL ONE - Minnows (8:55 - 9:35 AM)
Swimming lessons are an essential part of a child's education. Being able to swim properly increases confidence, which makes time in the water a safe and enjoyable experience. Our Progressive Swim Lessons are taught by certified American Red Cross Lifeguards, with an enthusiasm and dedication to helping children achieve their swimming goals.  Progressive lessons are for children 5 years old and up. Swim lessons are offered on Saturdays for 5 weeks. Children must pass all skills in the current level to move on to the next level. For the best progression, children should attend every class, if possible. Goggles are recommended, though we do not allow those that cover the nose. To determine proper class placement, please review the level descriptions.Minnows: Pool rules, warm-up swims, 5 bobs, jump into the shallow end and swim to the side safely, jump in with help from teacher, swim ½ lap of the pool, swim with a bubble/barbell and noodle, kick with pointed feet.Note: Minnows is the beginner level of the Progressive Swim Lessons program.To view the program flyer, CLICK HERE!
